Pacific Northwest Road Trip: Day 9, Hike1

STOUT MEMORIAL GROVE

Wow, what a difference a day makes! Yesterday’s non-stop rain gave way to sunny beautiful day! Today we tackled three different hikes, each one was fantastic! There are so many photos to share that I feel it would be better to split Day 9’s post into three posts, giving each hike their own post. The first hike we did today was the Stout Memorial Grove.

This was a loop trial; the path takes you in a circle ending where you began. I would categorize this as an easy trail suitable for all fitness levels. The path was wide, mostly level and gave you great views of the towering Redwood Trees!

There is a spur trail that we took which crosses the Mill Creek and ends at the Smith River. It was a bit more challenging but very much worth the effort to go all the way down to the river.

Stuck in the middle with you!
This little one is the only wildlife we’ve seen so far.

The trail began to get narrow the closer we got to the river.

On the way back we saw a few more interesting things….

Baby Tree…wants to be just like…
…Papa Tree!

The was a fantastic trail, now on to the next one!
