There is an unofficial motto of Michigan, “Don’t like the weather? Just wait a minute and it will change!”
Most Michigander’s are longing for sunnier days and warmer temps and all of the outdoor activities that go along with it. When you live in the mid-western United States you get used to being teased by the weather; and what a tease we received this week.
On Monday, February 26th, it was so sunny and 60 degrees fahrenheit; it felt down right balmy! I was enticed out to my backyard where, after shedding my bulky winter coat for my Irish wool sweater, I could not resist doing some gardening…well flower bed clean-up really. It just felt sooooo good to be out and getting my hands dirty in the soft cold soil….then came Thursday, March 1st, where I was ruthlessly ripped back to reality; winter isn’t quite finished with us yet!
A little dramatic I know….but I can hear that familiar tune softly playing off on the horizon, “Here comes the sun, doo, doo, doo, doo; Here comes the sun, and I say it’s alright!”
